We are now near Milwaukee, WI. Before we left the Jayco rally we were recognised for traveling the farthest to attend it. From Indiana traveling through Illinois we racked up about $50.00 in tolls and were in some heavy traffic along with some road construction delays. The campground here is very nice and off the beaten path surrounded by farm land.
Yesterday we headed into Milwaukee to tour Miller Park. We did not reserve tickets ahead of time and they only had one left for the next tour; we could have waited two hours for another but decided to leave. We then headed to the Miller Brewery and took their tour. It was interesting and they were generous with their samples. However the beer, hot weather and having not eaten since breakfast was not such a good mix. We headed back to the campground. I only took a few pictures there.
Today we opted to go in a different direction and after a stop at Walmart found a place called Ten Chimneys. It was the home of broadway stars (from the 1930s,40s & 50s) Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. We were able to do the estate tour without a prior reservation - there was another couple so it was nice and very enjoyable. They did not allow photography on this tour but we saw their home, studio and cottage just as it was when they lived there. The foundation offers many programs encouraging the performing arts.
